Biofuel Production Plants: Pellet and Briquet Production Systems
Biofuel production plants convert natural biomass into biofuels which can replace oil and gas in privat households or in the energy industry. The end-products of biofuel production plants are - DIN pellets During the conversion process of these fuels the raw material is dehumidified and thus the heating value is increased. The increase in heat value is a prerequisite for the use of natural biomass in small automated heating systems (such as pellet heating systems) being as easy to use as oil or gas heating systems. The use of industrial pellets in large power plants also within the frame of co-firing (co-firing of biomass and fossil fuels) becomes more and more important in those countries having ratified the Kyoto treaty. CO2 emissions can be reduced in conventional power plants (such as coal-fired power plants) by partly using renewable energy sources. In doing so, one makes a contribution to the global reduction of CO2 emissions.
